If you’ve ever been in the middle of a live stream then you know how trying to engage with your chat while simultaneously clicking around your screen to switch scenes or mute your mic can feel quite chaotic.
We want your live production to feel as seamless and natural as possible, not just for you but for your audience. That’s why we are incredibly excited to share the news of a highly requested feature: Keyboard Shortcuts.
Whether you are a seasoned creator or just starting your streaming journey, this update is designed to help you navigate your broadcast setup and live actions without breaking your flow. And for our console creators streaming straight from a PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, or Xbox, we know that managing a broadcast with a controller in hand is a whole different level of multitasking. Keyboard shortcuts will help take the weight off your shoulders even further without breaking a sweat!
Launch & Feature Details
Keyboard shortcuts are now available in Lightstream! We created this feature to make the editing and streaming process even more intuitive for our Lightstream Studio users!
To get started simply go to https://studio.golightstream.com/ and login to your account. At the top left corner you’ll have your drop down menu now featuring the “keyboard shortcuts” option.
After selecting this option your keyboard shortcuts menu will appear in the middle of your screen and allow you to select between the different options to familiarize yourself with the bindings.

Yes, keyboard shortcuts will work across these operating systems and listed supported browsers.
Are keyboard shortcuts available with the free version of Lightstream Studio?
Yes! This update is available on both the Free and Premium tiers.
Are keyboard shortcuts with Lightstream customizable?
Not right now – if there are any shortcuts you would love to see please share ideas with us in the Lightstream discord server We’d love to know how you are using the product and any ways we can improve it!
Will keyboard shortcuts work if Lightstream is running in a background tab?
No, you will need to have the browser window you’re running Lightstream Studio in present when using keyboard shortcuts.
Can I use keyboard shortcuts while streaming to multiple platforms at once?
Yes, but you will have to still have your browser window open with Lightstream Studio to operate the keyboard shortcuts.
Is this feature available to Classic users?
No, keyboard shortcuts are a Lightstream Studio-only feature. If you’re still on Classic, this is a great time to make the switch. Studio is where all new features will land, and getting started is free. Try it here: https://studio.golightstream.com
Will these work with my Elgato Stream Deck?
Yes! Create shortcuts with your Elgato Stream Deck or Stream Deck mobile app as you normally would and just be sure to have Lightstream open in a browser to easily switch scenes or start/stop your broadcast
